For years we’ve been enjoying Diana’s beautiful flowers. We wanted to catch up with Diana and see what’s in store for this season.
WR: Tell is about your growing on these beautiful Wappinger lands!
DIANA: I grow specialty cut, seasonal flowers. I practice sustainable growing methods- no chemicals or pesticides here! Every plant is tended with care from seed (or tuber or bulb) to harvest. I love seeing the array of blooms through the season- my tulips are just starting to come in now and the season ends with dahlias, my faves! In the winter I make dried flower arrangements and wreaths. I’m grateful to have a wonderful place to grow in Wappingers.
WR: Tell is about your CSA and how we find your flowers?
DIANA: Wappinger residents can sign up for the CSA on my website, dianamaeflowers.com. Being a member makes you a vital part of the farm and entitles you to a bouquet a week in the growing season. Pickup and delivery are available in Wappingers.
WR: You have a new addition to the team this year- tell us about Stevie!!
DIANA: Stevie is the newest addition to the farm. She is a spunky poodle terrier mix rescue pup. She loves long walks, chasing sticks and birds, cuddling , and sitting in the middle of the flower bed I’m trying to work in. She’s shaping up to be a top notch farm dog.
WR: Thanks for spending time with us! We look forward to your beautiful blooms again this year!
